Khye Hitchcock I'm the curator of the exhibition that decided that this wasn't a good thing to put on out a community who already deal with enough bullshit from every other angle and is really bored by this :)

Wells Tao Khye Hitchcock so it was you who refused the versions of this work with out the swearing? On account that 'Chch' couldn't handle it?

Khye Hitchcock Myself, and a committee of 10 chch based folk. On account that it doesn't fit at all with the kaupapa of the exhibition.

Wells Tao you abuse the word Kaupapa. But thanks for drawing a line. You looked like a bunch of self satisfied creeps, and you've acted like it. Way to sell a package.

Khye Hitchcock You know nothing of my practice other than it doesn't satisfy your need to cause a scene. I'll stand by it and The Social's decision to exclude the work.

Khye Hitchcock You were not the only artist rejected for this mural project - there were far more entries than capacity. This is the point of a call for proposals, not everyone gets in. You live up to your reputation, thanks for the amusing encounter.

Wells Tao Khye Hitchcock Cool. I was informed by Gaby Montejo, that however a poster of my work had been printed can you confirm this?
Manage
Khye Hitchcock
Khye Hitchcock Gaby will respond - believe it's going in an anti fashion show and possibly in the small exhibition hang of posters that were't able to be hung outside in the cafe due to our lease agreements and responsibility to tenants and a myriad of other curatorial considerations. I'll leave it to The Social from here.

Khye Hitchcock Also the sexist/inappropriate comments and attempts to belittle me based on social media representation/appearance, particularly referring to me as 'sweet pants' on a semi-public social media forum after determining that I'm the curator of this exhibition are really unprofessional and have been noted, and not just by me.

Wells Tao I hope you will appreciate that this (my work) has not been about you, but about other issues. You have been very professional.

Wells Tao oh really, damn I just posted about how professional you were behaving except that first passive aggressive comment. But then you go and drop all of your shit all over me. HA! nuts.

I believe I have successfully articulated 'identify politics' falling over. Where those professing to 'care' become the biggest bullies.

Who knew curators, artists, had so much in common with WINZ staff.

Khye Hitchcock is the curator of a show in Christchurch NZ that along with a panel of ten like minded individuals banned my invited work from public showing, then offered to put it on a T-shirt for a 'anti-fashion' show, which I have decided is too much a capitalist strategy so nah.

The reason for it being banned was that it was against the shows "Kaupapa" which as I understand it had something about hanging out with each others and being groovy to one another.
Hilarious. But also sad.

It's like, not only has free speech left Chch with its democracy, but any semblance of it, post the 'gap filler' chch propaganda status quo art movement, is an overwhelming threat.

Not very Social really.
